The Regional District of Kootenay Boundary requires one permanent full time Engineering and Safety Coordinator within the Environmental Services Department (Operations) for work at the Regional District of Kootenay Boundary (RDKB) Administration Office in Trail, B.C.

The preferred full-time candidate will possess:

an Undergraduate degree or diploma from a recognized Institute of Technology in the discipline of Science, Civil or Environmental Engineering, and be registered, or eligible for registration, as an Applied Science Technologist (or equivalent) with the Applied Science Technologist & Technicians of British Columbia;
a minimum of two to three years experience in a similar capacity with demonstrated progression in responsibilities; experience in project management and public sector budget preparation;
maintain a valid B.C. Driver’s Licence; and
local government safety experience.

DUTIES:
The position reports to the Manager of Infrastructure and Sustainability, the Engineering and Safety Coordinator contributes to the effective operation of the Environmental Services Department through helping to coordinate work and performing work within the Department. Main responsibilities include assisting in the overall operation and maintenance of Public Works, Utilities, Administration and Solid Waste Facilities, and providing general technical / engineering services on all RDKB infrastructure where required. HOURS OF WORK:
37.5 Hours Per Week – (October – March)      8:00 am – 4:30 pm Monday to Friday
35 Hours Per Week – (April – September)      8:00 am – 4:00 pm Monday to Friday
