The District is seeking a results-oriented, progressive professional engineer to join our Leadership Team as the Director of Engineering Services.
Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, the ideal candidate will have extensive experience in civil engineering, design, and capital works projects and will serve as the key advisor to the District, Council, outside agencies and the public on all matters pertaining to Engineering.
The ideal candidate will be an innovative leader with the ability to empower staff and build positive work cultures in a unionized environment, and will be very supportive of public participation in the Municipality’s programs and activities through meaningful public engagement and customer service.
The ideal candidate will have a Degree in Engineering (Civil Engineering preferred) with registration, or eligibility to register, as a professional engineer with APEGBC, with a minimum of six years of related experience involving a broad range of management, operational and administrative responsibilities, preferably in a local government setting. Equivalent combination of education, training and experience will also be accepted.
