The Town of Midland is currently seeking a Director of Engineering and Water/Wastewater Services, reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer. The position will be responsible for overseeing both the Engineering department as well as the Water/Wastewater Treatment Services. These duties will include management of the asset management and capital budgeting processes as well as oversight of municipal infrastructure and private development projects; municipal energy management, change management initiatives community relationship building and departmental leadership.
As our ideal candidate you will have worked within the municipal political environment understanding the need to balance competing demands while keeping focused on the delivery of key projects. You will have a degree in Civil Engineering with membership in the Association of Professional Engineers as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng), coupled with significant post-graduate experience in the design and construction of municipal projects. You are an accomplished Civil Engineer who has continued to enhance your knowledge of the principals of Civil Engineering as applied to design and construction of various municipal works, and municipal water and wastewater works. Your leadership skills will be complemented by your strong communication and team building skills along with your change management experience and a strong desire to make a difference.
