Purpose of the Role:
This role has overall responsibility for enterprise wide data architecture, which support the business and IT priorities. This role is the key evangelist of data management and driving the effective use of data assets to meet business priorities.

This role will define and govern core data standard, simplify enterprise data architecture/data flow, contribute to data solution design as well as data integration solution in projects.

Responsibilities
Working with business, functional and technical teams to analyze, define, design, document, and support implementation of data solutions to meet business objectives;
Collaborate with other technical resources in the integration design and perform logical mapping of source data into target data models in projects;
Drive data analysis and modeling efforts (conceptual, logical and physical models), either as the lead modeller, sole modeller, or as member of a team as appropriate given the specific project situation;
Define and enforce best practices for data design and modeling, and maintain associated polices, standards and procedures
Take ownership of architectural artifacts such as data model (logical, conceptual and physical), data dictionary, and data flow chart etc. Maintain entity-relationship diagrams for relational systems and dimensional diagrams for the Data Warehouse, Data Marts, and Data Cubes.
Participate in architecture reviews for solutions designed by third parties;
Provide support and assistance to load testing activities and testing result reviews
Acting as an internal consultant on all data architecture related activities while participating in all phases of the project development life cycle
Contributes to Information Management Architecture Strategy (Enterprise Data Strategy);
Develop and maintain Enterprise Data Dictionary and Business Data Glossary

Core Skills:
Experience performing data discovery, analysis and profiling
Strong relational and dimensional data modeling skills, Experience understanding, working with, and extending complex data models
Experience creating logical source-to-target mappings which can be used by data integration engineers to write ETL/ELT to populate an enterprise data warehouse
Very strong SQL query language skills
Business and technical requirements elicitation, analysis and elaboration a plus
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong consulting and customer relationship skills
Capable of handling multiple tasks with minimal supervision.

Tools & Technologies:
SQL interpreters: must have very strong SQL skills
Data modeling tools: Erwin, or equivalent
Data Analysis & Profiling: IBM Information Analyzer, Informatica Data Analyzer, or equivalent
Working knowledge of BI tools such as MicroStrategy or BO
Database Management System exposure: SQL Server, Oracle
Strong experience with physical database design, including views and indexing strategies

Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field preferred
Experience: Minimum seven years of data architecture/modeling experience in relational, dimensional as well as object-oriented data models
