The Position
We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join our production team as a Coffee & Cacao Technician Assistant. The position is located in the Jane & Finch area at our warehouse and food manufacturing facility where we process cacao and coffee. Initial opportunity is for three (3) days per week.
Key Responsibilities
Training will be provided on processes and machinery to perform:
Roasting and processing Cacao
Roasting and packaging Coffee
Maintaining records including updating of daily reports and logs either on a computer tablet or written manual log.
Maintenance, cleaning, packaging and other duties as required

Interpersonal skills
Communicates clearly and effectively with co-workers to exchange information and to coordinate activities and schedules
Contributes to a harmonious work environment
Takes direction from the facilities lead and warehouse management team and operates with minimal supervision
Possesses a curious mind with an eagerness and readiness to learn
Previous experience
Training will be provided
Attention to detail, capacity to learn new skills and respect for food safety and quality are required.
Knowledge of cacao and cacao processing would be an asset
Previous experience in a manufacturing or warehouse setting would be asset
Forklift Operator Training or willingness to learn required
Food Handling Certification
Any health and safety knowledge of requirements for and knowledge of personal protective equipment and hazards to themselves and others in a warehouse or manufacturing setting would be beneficial
Other attributes
Technical aptitude and interest in science are beneficial
Ability to assist in lifting approximately 69 kilo bags
Education and Experience
Any relevant secondary school education would be an asset
On-the-job training is provided
Work hours and working environment: Initial schedule will be part-time days, 12 – 18 hours per week. This position is located in a food manufacturing environment.
