As a member of the OSCO Construction Group, Ocean Steel & Construction Ltd., along with its American affiliate, Ocean Steel Corporation, has grown to become one of the largest steel fabricators in Eastern Canada and one of the most respected steel suppliers on the Eastern Seaboard. Our customer base has been gradually extended from the Atlantic Canadian Provinces into Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta (the “Canadian Market”). In addition, we’ve expanded from the New England into the Mid-Atlantic regions of the USA. We currently have sales offices in Saint John, NB, Burlington, MA and Conklin, NY.
We are currently seeking a Canadian Sales Associate, reporting to the Business Development Manager, to help identify, develop (assist in preparation of major bid proposals) and obtain additional Structural Steel and platework business within our Canadian Market.
Reporting to the Business Development Manager in Canada, the Canadian Sales Associate will be an independent, confident and effective professional who is naturally inclined to meet new people, build effective relationships and develop strong industry connections. Based in Saint John, NB and traveling regularly within the Canadian Market, this individual will aid in identifying new business opportunities and will track proposed projects in the company’s CRM software. Persuasive presentation and negotiation skills will be critical to the Sales Associate’s success and ensure prospective clients understand the advantage of using Ocean Steel to ultimately close deals for new business. The ideal candidate will thrive working in a team-based environment while independently developing a new customer’s within the Canadian Market.
Fostering relationships with material suppliers, steel erectors, contractors, consultants and owners will be an important element along with the ability to structure and/or modify Ocean’s proposals to make them more likely to be accepted. Success, measured a year from now, will be based on whether the Sales Associate has been helpful in developing new customers and been a factor to achieve the sales targets set by the company.
