The role
We are looking for a self motivated, well organized and highly efficient Corrugated Structural Designer to join our Design team. The successful candidate is responsible for generating corrugate Point of Purchase (POP) display concepts, building and assembling prototypes, developing pricing and production specifications. The corrugated designer will work closely with account managers to understand the requirements from the client and develop corrugate merchandising displays that will withstand the retail environment. The candidate must have good understanding of corrugate substrates, costs, printing and manufacturing processes. They must be comfortable making changes based on frequent feedback from the client, sales and/or the Creative Director.
Key Responsibilities
Design and build corrugate POP displays
Develop pricing and production specifications to manufacture corrugate structure
Create photo and line drawing instruction sheets
Assemble samples and printed prototypes for client review
Make revision to concepts and drawings based on feedback from internal team and client
Work with production team to ensure all manufacturing requirements have been addressed
Attend client briefing and brainstorming sessions
Other tasks may be assigned from time to time
Qualifications and Skills
Degree in Structural Packaging Design or equivalent work experience/education
2- 7 years of experience in designing and engineering corrugate POP displays
Advance knowledge of Artios CADs
Experience using Kongsberg cutting table
Advanced knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
Advanced knowledge of corrugate substrates and manufacturing processes
Strong organizational and time management skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
Ability to manage competing deadlines and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
Demonstrate a take-charge attitude with a focus on problem resolution
Have a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to work in a highly collaborative, team based environment
Ability to work with minimum supervision
Unique Skills
3DS MAX modeling and rendering experience
Sketching ability, both informal and formal
Knowledge and experience with various printing processes
