As our company continues to change and grow we are seeking a qualified individual to contribute to our on-going success in the role of Mechanical Engineering Designer.
Overview:
As the Mechanical Engineering Designer, you will be based in Brookside, NS and you will work within Inland Technologies’ Engineering Department. You will be primarily responsible for creating and managing mechanical designs. You will develop and execute detailed design plans that include technical designs, supplier liaison, design schedules and investment costs for projects of small to large capital investments.
Primary Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Senior Engineering Specialist, the primary job responsibilities of the Mechanical Engineering Designer will include but are not limited to:
Developing mechanical designs that support the current and future technical needs of Inland’s equipment such as the Starcevic distillation system and ADF concentrators;
Developing moderately complex designs such as distillation skids, piping layouts, and electrical cable tray layouts;
Translating component specifications into a mechanical design for fabrication or purchase. For example, heat exchangers and tanks;
Developing supporting documentation for Inland processes and equipment, including but not limited to Bills of Materials, drawings and associated design documentation;
Creating and managing detailed schedules for projects within the position responsibility;
Working collaboratively with consulting engineering firms.
As the ideal candidate you possess the following qualifications:
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology;
5+ years of relevant Engineering Technology experience or equivalent relating to the design of mechanical and industrial equipment with strong experience related to the fabrication of mechanical systems;
Mastery in the use of CAD programs;
Excellence in troubleshooting and thrives on problem solving;
Proven ability to plan and execute;
Excellent communication skills;
Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and be a strong team player;
Willingness to engage in hands-on development.
A strong candidate may also have:
Experience with project management and creating project estimates and budgets;
Experience in electrical and electronics development.
