Commissioner, Utilities

Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, the the Commissioner, Utilities has a unique opportunity to lead and manage a multi-faceted division incorporating Gas Distribution, Electric Distribution, Electric Generation, Gas Marketing, Business Support and Environmental Utilities. As a member of the Administrative Committee, you will ensure effective operations of the City’s utility business division serving the residents of Medicine Hat and customers in the surrounding area.

Manager, Electric Generation

Reporting to the Commissioner, Utilities, the Manager, Electric Generation will be responsible for the 24/7 safe operation, maintenance, administration, engineering, construction, various capital projects and long-term forecasting and planning for the Electric Generation Plants. You will be responsible for the effective and efficient utilization of all resources to ensure the provision of a safe, reliable and efficient supply of electricity for the City. This position will effectively balance best business practices with the best interest of the citizens of Medicine Hat.

As an Engineer, you bring eight years of operation and leadership experience in the operation, maintenance, design, planning, and construction of a thermal electric generation plant facility. You are known for your business savvy and safety priorities.  You would bring exemplary leadership and solid relationship skills.
