The successful candidate will participate in a broad range of projects within and beyond North America. This position will involve a mix of field testing, administrative tasks, data analysis, reporting, client management, and project management. This opportunity will involve up to 75% travel. Most of the work will be outdoors, conducting leak detection and condition assessment tests on water pipelines, with analysis and reporting duties between deployments.

Responsibilities for the position are:

Client management and customer service
Project logistics planning and coordination from a safety, technical and productive standpoint
Conducting leak detection surveys of distribution and transmission water mains
Conducting condition assessment measurements on distribution mains
Management of installation, commissioning, reading, and maintenance of various measurement devices on water mains and networks
Project budget tracking and monitoring
Management of equipment inventories
Administrative duties such as invoicing, time tracking, expense tracking, contract coordination, purchasing, and sales.
Trouble shooting problems from customer, site, technical and people management perspectives
Administrative duties such as invoicing, time tracking, expense tracking, contract coordination, purchasing, and technical sales.
Management and care of equipment inventories and vehicle fleet
Educating clients in formal and informal presentations to drive and support sales
Deal professionally with employees, customers, external contractors and other industry contacts
Working in compliance with all health and safety and environmental legislation including, but not limited to, the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations and Echologics’ Policies, Procedures and Code of Conduct
Other duties assigned by management

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

Minimum 5 years’ experience in leak detection of water systems and advanced acoustic leak detection equipment
Experience in Water Supply Distributions and Operations systems in North America and Europe
Unrivalled knowledge of the establishment of District Meter Areas, including use of step testing, Non Revenue Water assessment
Extensive experience in the use of numerous manufacturers’ leak noise correlators and other associated technology
Experience with programming and deployment of noise loggers
Special experience in the training and retraining of staff, at all levels, in the many and various techniques and methods of leakage control & detection using existing and new technology equipment
Experience in the design and setting up of pressure zones, using existing and new technology
Trunk main flow monitoring using Pito Rod and EM, and Ultrasonic insertion flow meters
Familiarity with water system design in the UK, US, Middle East, and Southeast Asia related to application of leakage control and flow monitoring techniques
Experience in the commissioning and monitoring of EchoShore TX and DX
Experience with ePulse condition assessment technology and EchoWave leak detection technology
Fully experienced in managing and administering distribution workload
Experience in the operation of LeakfinderRT, specifically in measuring acoustic wave velocity
Familiarity with techniques used in pipe condition assessment
International experience an asset as the position will entail some business development
Proven ability to manage large and technically complex projects on time and on budget

Educational requirements are flexible, but must include:

Formal leak detection training
DMA Flow meter training
Presser Management training
Pipe locating training
Confined Space Entry
