The District of Saanich is seeking an experienced Senior Building Official for the Inspection Services Division. The ideal candidate will possess considerable knowledge of the B.C. Building Code and municipal bylaws. Work involves plan and document examination and building permit processing for construction, alteration, and repair of buildings, in addition to field inspection of construction. Requirements include: a degree in engineering or architecture and at least three years directly related experience, or an equivalent combination of education with at least five years experience as a Building Official and Building Officials’ Association of B.C. Level III certificate; at least two years supervisory experience; and possession of a valid B.C. Class 5 Driver’s Licence.
