If so, this opportunity may be the right fit for you because we are looking for an enthusiastic, conscientious Pipelayer to perform manual maintenance and construction work related to the repair, maintenance and installation of water, sanitary and storm mains and services throughout the District.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate considerable knowledge of the standards in methods and practices pertaining to materials, tools and equipment used in the construction and maintenance of water, sanitary and storm utilities to go with his or her minimum of 3 – 5 years’ experience in performing that work.
You will have post-secondary technical training related to the work and will have knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions of the work as it relates to current codes and standards. You will have strong communication skills, enabling you to understand and effectively carry out oral and written instructions and assist and guide fellow workers in the proper procedures for utility projects. You must possess a valid B.C. driver’s license.
The wage rate for this full-time CUPE position is $29.12 per hour with a comprehensive benefit package upon successful completion of the probation period. The hours of work for this position are 7:30 am – 5:00 pm, Monday to Thursday.
