Job Description

The Municipality of the District of Lunenburg, located in Bridgewater along Nova Scotia’s beautiful South Shore, is seeking a Municipal Engineer or Civil Engineering Technologist for a one-year term.  There may be an option for renewal or for the position to become permanent.

Reporting to the Acting Director of Engineering & Public Works, the Municipal Engineer provides professional and technical engineering support for municipally owned infrastructure and projects; and, performs supervisory and administrative duties in planning and coordinating engineering services.

As the ideal candidate you hold a Bachelor’s Engineering Degree preferably in Civil Engineering and are registered with Engineers Nova Scotia (or have the ability to obtain designation); or, you are a Certified Engineering Technologist with extensive applicable experience.  A strong team player, you have previous project management experience and excellent verbal and written communication skills.  Proficient in AutoCAD design and Microsoft Office you have a strong background in construction and maintenance of transportation and other infrastructure.

The salary range is $55,373 to $76,200 plus benefits.
