The District is seeking a Director of Building and Planning to join our Leadership Team.
Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, the Director leads and is responsible for the Building and Planning Department, and ensures the effective delivery of current and long-range planning, land use approvals (with an emphasis on heritage planning) and building permits and inspection services that align with the District’s Official Community Plan.
The ideal candidate will have a post-graduate degree in Planning or a closely related field with a minimum of 6 years related management experience involving a broad range of management, operational and administrative responsibilities, preferably in a local government setting. Registration, or eligibility to register for membership in PIBC and/or the Canadian Institute of Planners is required.
