Reporting to the General Manager of Development Services, the Building Services Manager works collaboratively with Development Services, Fire Inspection and By-law Enforcement staff to ensure that existing and new development meets all regulatory requirements. The Manager will have sound leadership skills to manage, train, motivate and direct a team of building and plumbing inspectors, plan reviewers, and support staff in the performance of inspection services related to all types of building construction that take place within the City. The successful candidate will establish and maintain positive, constructive working relationships with all key stakeholders and work with a high degree of independent action and judgment within established policies and procedures, as well as continually look at process efficiencies to improve customer experiences.

Along with your degree or diploma in Engineering or Building Technology and your registration as a Level III Certified Building Official with BOABC, we require a minimum of five years progressively responsible and decision-making experience in a Municipal setting including supervisory experience in a unionized environment.
