The Building Inspector II is responsible for planning, coordinating and performing plan checks and inspections for the municipality and administering a variety of provincial and municipal bylaws and regulations. Candidates must have considerable knowledge of the methods, practices, materials and procedures used in building construction as well as the ability to identify faulty or substandard material and code violations through inspections. Candidates must have the aptitude to communicate effectively orally and in writing, Level 11 BC Building Inspection Certification, minimum of three years’ experience and a valid class 5 Drivers’ License.
