The City of Campbell River is seeking a Building Inspector I to join our Community Planning and Development Services team. Reporting to the Development Engineering & Building Supervisor, and taking direction from the Chief Building Inspector, you will be responsible for the administration and enforcement of the City Building Bylaw and BC Building Code with a focus on residential construction.
To complement your trades certification or equivalent post-secondary education and training, you will also possess:
• Successful completion of Building Official Association of British Columba (BOABC) Level 1 examination and member or eligible for membership in the BOABC;
• Valid BC Driver’s License, and produce and maintain a clean driver’s abstract, as per City policy;
• Minimum of two (2) years’ related experience;
• Working knowledge of provincial statutes, regulations and codes, related documents, and municipal bylaws.
The current hourly rate of pay for this CUPE bargaining unit position is $32.25 working a 35-hour workweek.
