Temporary Operations Attendants – City of Port Coquitlam – Port Coquitlam, BC

The City of Port Coquitlam is a rapidly growing urban municipality of over 57,000 residents, located in the northeast section of the Lower Mainland.  The City is distinguished by a strong sense of community pride and commitment to responsible municipal management in meeting the needs of the community.

The City’s Engineering & Operations Department is seeking dynamic, enthusiastic and energetic individuals for the temporary opportunity to educate the public on the current water restrictions and issue warnings to those in contravention to the bylaw.

Working in groups of two, the successful candidates will be cycling and in some cases driving specified routes around the City, attending events such as the Farmers Market and doing outreach to the public.  This is a temporary assignment anticipated to provide 4-5 weeks of work starting July 27, 2015 (or earlier).  Individuals who will be considered for this expression of interest must be available to work at least 20 hours per week between:

5am to 9am or 5pm to 9pm Monday to Friday
3pm to 7pm on Thursdays
Available early morning or early evenings on Saturday and Sunday And have a valid class 5 BC driver’s license.

The rate of pay for this unionized position is $16.66 per hour plus 12% in lieu of benefits.  The successful applicants will be required to provide a copy of their driver’s abstract.  All hours above are subject to change based on operational requirements.

Qualified individuals are invited to drop in to an open house on Tuesday July 21st, between the hours of 4pm-6pm at our Operations Centre located at 1735 Broadway Street, Port Coquitlam. Preference will be given to those candidates who attend the open house.
