Working collaboratively with the Community Services team, you will provide day to day leadership and direction over the customer service operations at the Mount Pearl Summit Centre and the Glacier and oversee the business operations at the Glacier including sport tourism ventures for the City of Mount Pearl. Key responsibilities include identifying, developing, coordinating and managing facility operations and events; ensuring a positive and safe experience for patrons; mentoring, leading and supervising staff; assisting in the preparation, promotion and implementation of events, programs and services; ensuring cleanliness and upkeep of facilities; preparing reports and statistics; ensuring effective, efficient, safe and quality services and programs; ensuring fiscal accountability and business development; and liaising with respective stakeholders on behalf of the City. Evening and weekend work is required.
If you have a degree or diploma in Business and/or Recreation with relevant progressive supervisory and business development experience and knowledge of ice arena operations, along with a strong client service orientation and “can do” attitude, the City of Mount Pearl wants you to join our team. Knowledge of sports tourism would be an asset.
