Qualification:
Master’s Degree in English
At least five years of work experience in teaching English
Knowing vocabulary of 100,000 words or more
Main duties of the Job:
Prepare teaching and mock materials for academic or any other English language testing system
Teach how to write a thesis from beginner to master
Have the biggest impact on vocabulary by increasing the amount of incidental word learning
Increase vocabulary by including powerful, difficult words in their oral language while they teach, and encouraging students to use those words in their speaking and writing
Measure of educational attainment and a key to academic and career success
Help students develop a strong working vocabulary by encouraging a curiosity about the meaning and use of unfamiliar words and promote the use of strategies that will help students find the meaning of unfamiliar words
Prepare, administer and mark tests and papers to evaluate students’ progress
Advise students on program curricula and career decisions
Develop course contents
Register programs to the Ontario Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities
Conduct course and program evaluation and review
Provide an individualized (one-to-one) tutorial for students who require it
Assign and supervise individual projects and hands-on training to evaluate students’ capabilities
Provide assistance to students with field placements and practices related to area of work
