Overall responsibility
The Education Program Support Staff will lead EcoHouse school tours, Green Venture presentations, and assist with festivals and events. Due to the high level of public interaction this position requires a dynamic, flexible, high energy personality.
Key areas of responsibility
EcoHouse Tours and Green Venture Presentations
Lead EcoHouse tours for school classes and community groups
Set up and take down of tour activities
Deliver environmental conservation presentations to school classes and other community groups
Assist with research and development of new education activities
Festivals and Events
Staff displays at local events to engage public in conversation and disseminate program information
Work with volunteers to lead recycling and green bin programs at events
Assist with set up and take down

Data entry and upkeep of the organization’s databases, ensuring a high level of accuracy

Terms of employment
On-call temporary position
0-25 hours per week, not to exceed 650 hours per calendar year (please note: March – June is our busiest season)
$17.03 per hour
Schedule will be provided 2 weeks in advance whenever possible
Hours will vary. Weekday mornings and afternoons have traditionally been most the most popular for tours and presentations. Some evenings and weekends may be required, particularly for festivals and events.
Shifts will be 2.5 hours to 8 hours in length, depending on programming demand
Qualifications
Minimum 2-3 years of experience teaching/mentoring/working with children ages 6-14
Experience presenting to large groups of children and/or adults
Excellent interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills
Proven adaptability
Time management skills
Analytical and problem solving skills
Basic knowledge of local environmental issues
Valid āGā license accompanied by a clean driving record. Green Venture uses Community CarShare vehicles as transportation.
