Education Facilitator – The Elements Society

About the Role
The Education Facilitator is responsible for delivering program curriculum in classroom, and virtual classroom settings throughout Vancouver.
The Facilitator guides students through engaging lesson plans that appeal to all learning types and empower youth to take personal actions towards a sustainable world. Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary to fulfill this role and represent Elements Society in a professional manner. Candidates who have experience working with children and youth, general knowledge of environmental topics, and are comfortable with inquiry-based learning are preferred.

The Education Facilitator is expected to:
Work collaboratively with staff, program partners and teachers to deliver quality education programs
Go above and beyond to create a positive learning environment and experience for students, teachers and parents
Demonstrate personal leadership, integrity and professionalism
Fulfill administrative functions required for program success

What we are looking for:
Previous experience delivering education programs to children and youth in classroom and virtual settings
An understanding of sustainability, environmental education and/or equivalent
Strong personal leadership skills and comfort taking on increasing responsibilities
Strong communication skills to successfully engage students and interact with parents and other stakeholders
The ability to adapt quickly to changes in work with limited supervision
Collaborative approach to effectively contribute to a team-based work environment
Access to a vehicle for workshop materials preparation and program delivery
Experience delivering programs in both french and english is an asset
Previous experience in the not-for-profit industry preferred
