Education Coordinator – The Roberta Bondar Foundation – Ontario

Position Description:
Reporting to the Managing Director, and working with the staff team, with guidance from the Chair of the Board and President as needed, the Education Coordinator will play a key role in supporting RBF’s youth programs and upcoming travelling exhibition, planned to launch in July 2023. This includes: corresponding with program participants and partner organization contacts, checking inventories of program materials, program promotion, and other administrative and organizational needs as required. The Education Coordinator will also support the opening exhibition as needed, including ensuring that information is well organized, and communicated to the appropriate individuals and partner organizations.

Responsibilities:
Liaison with contacts at camps and partner organizations delivering the SCBC program, regarding program set-up, delivery and follow-up as needed.
Logistical support for programs, including packing kits to be mailed to camps and/or schools.
Monitor inventories of program materials, and refill as required.
Track program participant applications and maintain spreadsheet.
Compile and organize nature photography contest submissions for the Foundation’s judges.
Prepare Photography Challenge contest results and exhibition updates for publication on the Foundation’s website, social media and newsletter.
Develop communications strategies to reach and engage new camps and communities to increase participation in the program.
Assist in distributing surveys and compiling program evaluation data.
Identify any needs and gaps in resource materials and information; research and write resource materials to fill these needs as required.
Contribute to RBF’s e-newsletter, WINGS
Research potential sponsors, foundations and government agencies in local communities. Contact select funders as required, to confirm eligibility and deadlines.
Draft letters and facilitate communications with organizational contacts and partner organizations. Compile charts that can easily be shared with partner organizations.
Provide general administrative support to RBF staff for educational programs as required.

Requirements:
Educational background in a STEAM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics)
Experience in summer camp setting or program delivery and/or event planning
Strong written communication skills for drafting emails, reports and digital content
Experience using design software such as Canva, Constant Contact
Experience with Survey Monkey an asset
Familiarity with Mac computer systems an asset
Great interpersonal skills; ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and take on a diverse set of tasks
Comfort with speaking on the phone
Ability to successfully handle multiple tasks and responsibilities but comfortable asking for help and guidance when needed
Highly motivated, great self-starter, able to work with limited supervision at times
Interest in Environmental Education
