Summary
Reporting to the Education Manager, this person will be responsible for the administration and support of education and public programs including scheduling of programs and staff, facilitating and processing all education program bookings.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Booking communications, scheduling, and registration set-up and processing for all school and youth visits, virtual field trips, March break, PA day programs, birthday parties and other education programs.
Coordination of March break programs and school visits.
Scheduling of 6-10 part-time educators for delivery of in-museum and local outreach programs.
Efficient and accurate data management for all contacts and booking reservations for education programs.
Supply purchasing and tracking for all education department initiatives.
Other duties as required to support education programs and museum initiatives.
Administrative support of public/family programs as required.
Relevant Skills and Qualifications include:
Proven experience in coordination, scheduling and program support in a non-profit, arts, education or museum setting.
Familiarity with the Ontario curriculum and teachers’ field trip requirements.
Keen interest in carrying out the “behind-the-scenes” administrative work that makes an organization successful.
Proven experience with database management. Familiarity with Sumac an asset.
Excellent organization and administration skills.
Superior verbal and written communications and strong interpersonal skills.
Willingness to work in a team environment as well as demonstrated ability to work to high standards independently.
Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint). Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign), Constant Contact and Squarespace an asset.
Bilingualism an asset.
Familiarity with The Canadian Canoe Museum and a personal connection to canoeing or kayaking an asset.
Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related discipline.
