Job Duties
Coordinate outreach activities
Research and establish outreach relationships with corporate and community organizations
Research and coordinate community event opportunities, and represent the organization
Research and develop outreach presentations, videos and displays for a variety of audiences, consistent with school curriculum and other standards
Coordinate and deliver client and outreach presentations and tours, both in person and through video conferencing
Coordinate the maintenance of the outreach resource centre
Coordinate outreach volunteers
Assist with coordinating other events as required
Coordinate responses to media inquiries
Maintain records
Coordinate events
Coordinate virtual and on-site events
Coordinate pre-event operational logistics, including equipment rental, supplies, catering, entertainment, displays and parking/shuttle
Coordinate during event operations and tear-down
Coordinate post-event logistics and operations
Coordinate event volunteers and roles
Coordinate advertising and event outreach
Coordinate and develop partnerships, sponsorships and donations
Maintain event budget and records
Other duties
Collaborate with the Communications and Development Coordinator, and the Marketing coordinator
Other duties as required
Eligibility
To be eligible under the Canada Summer Jobs program, applicants must:
be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment;
be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment*; and,
have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
International students are not eligible participants.
Qualifications
proof of Covid-19 vaccinations
well-equipped home office, including computer and internet access
reliable transportation to our facility in North Gower (there is no public transit available)
enrollment in a post-secondary institution in education, community outreach, fundraising, advertising, marketing, communications, public relations, business or related programs; or equivalent combination of education and experience
previous outreach, teaching or event experience
good creative skills, and previous experience in developing and giving presentations
excellent verbal and written English communications skills, including public speaking
exceptional planning, organizing and problem-solving skills
strong interpersonal skills and ability to motivate others
strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office software, including Power Point
previous experience in Adobe Creative an asset
previous experience in photography, graphic design or video editing an asset
Term and Compensation
This is a 35 hr/wk position to begin as early as April 25 until September 3. Wages are $18.00/hr. Some shift work, weekends and evenings are required. This position involves working on-site and from home.
