Assistant Professor (nine-month position, non-tenure track)

The Department of Biology at Saint Mary’s University invites applications for a nine-month appointment (non-tenure track) at the rank of Assistant Professor, effective September 1st, 2015. Qualified applicants must have a Ph.D. in Biology and have experience teaching Plant Biology in addition to either Animal Biology or Conservation Biology. The position will require the applicant to teach about two courses per term.

The Faculty of Science, which houses the Department of Biology, has gone through significant renewal in the past decade, with many new and active faculty involved in teaching and research. Our facilities have also been renewed and all space within the Faculty of Science and the Department of Biology have been renovated and upgraded within the last five years. We are working to establish and build upon areas of distinct research strength and through those foster collaborations locally, regionally, and internationally.

Saint Mary’s University is located in the historic port city of Halifax, Nova Scotia, a vibrant, urban community of over 350,000 people. Halifax is a major educational centre for Atlantic Canada and is home to five universities.
