Nestled in the boreal forest along the banks of the mighty Slave River, Fort Smith is a friendly, multicultural community with a population of 2,500. We are the education capital of the NWT, and the gateway to Wood Buffalo National Park. This is a full time year round position with a 40 hr/wk flexible schedule in our 25 metre/4 lane indoor pool with beach entrance, hot tub and 2 water slides.
Reporting to the Director of Community Services, the Aquatic Lead is responsible for the overall safety of patrons, cleanliness of the facility, maintaining staff training levels, and ensuring appropriate staffing and programming of the Pool.
Applicant must have 2 years directly related experience in swimming pool administration.
The Aquatic Lead is required to have the following candidate and instructor level certifications: Pool Operator 2, National Lifeguard, Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor, Standard First Aid, CPR, First Aid, CPR-C AED and O2 admin., Lifesaving Instructor and Swim Instructor trainer, National Lifeguard Instructor/examiner. Equivalencies will be considered. Candidates must provide a satisfactory criminal record check.
Position Location: Recreation and Community Centre Pool
Salary & Benefits: Pay Level 19 ($62,677.23 – $72,171.87) plus Northern Allowance of $7,7515.79 annually and a comprehensive health and dental benefits and a pension plan provided by Northern Employee Benefits Services.
