Greenpeace Canada is seeking a Web Producer to develop and plan digital web content as well as coordinate the development of Greenpeace Canada’s web sites in order to support campaign, communication, mobilization, and fundraising objectives.
Major Responsibilities:
Developing and planning Greenpeace Canada’s web presence including: production and programming of original content specifically related to on-line fundraising and Greenpeace Canada campaign projects.
Working with the Digital Team to advance online fundraising goals and online mobilization goals. Working with programs and fundraising staff to increase visibility and traffic to the site, improving ease-of-use both internally and externally and ensure a consistently high quality product.
Being a representative of the digital team on collaborative project teams: understanding the digital team’s mobilization and fundraising objectives, and helping the project team create digital strategies that meet project goals.
Coordinating the design and production of web content, including text, photographs, graphics, video, audio, etc.
Liaising with staff to ensure Greenpeace Canada’s web presence complements and enhances campaign and organizational goals.
Assisting with web analytics, testing and other web projects, as needed.
Expanding Greenpeace Canada’s ability to grow our audience online.
Managing relationships with external suppliers, including web designers or website developers.
Required Skills:
Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, Photoshop, Java script, Adobe Web Suite, PHP/MySQL, responsive web design and UX.
Knowledge of email marketing software, social media measurement tools, web analytics, online fundraising programs and SEO;
Experience campaigning in a digital context;
Excellent oral, written and inter-personal communication skills, as well as strong listening abilities;
High level of professionalism while representing an organization and maintaining work relationships;
Extremely fine-tuned organizational, computer, administrative and time management skills;
A demonstrated commitment, knowledge and passion for environmental and social justice issues and general knowledge of Greenpeace objectives, culture and methods;
Experience setting and adhering to priorities in a volatile and ever-changing context;
Proven commitment to knowledge sharing and innovation within a diverse environment;
Flexible, collaborative personality;
Bilingualism in French and English is a necessity;
You will work with colleagues in Canada and around the world. Some travel will be necessary. Evening and weekend work will sometimes be required.
Candidates should understand and support Greenpeace campaign tactics, including the use of peaceful civil disobedience. All candidates must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
