RESPONSIBILITIES/EFFORTS/WORKING CONDITIONS

Designs dies, fixtures, machine builds, from part drawings, math data or verbal specifications.
Design special tools as needed for production
Has good knowledge of various materials (tools, steels etc.)
Proficient or familiar with geometric tolerancing.
Maintains safety and housekeeping standards of work place as outlined in the employee handbook and other company policies and procedures.

SKILL REQUIREMENTS

Minimal of 5 years of experience in Tooling Design; automotive tooling experience preferred.
On-going practical experience.
Ability to work well independently and in a team.
Knowledge of Unigraphics, Pro E or a comparable modeling tool is preferred.
Simulation experience using autoform or dynoform is preferred.
Good knowledge of 3D design systems.
Very good communication skills.
Mathematical and Mechanical aptitude.
A postsecondary diploma or degree in mechanical engineering or a Licensed Tool and Die Maker
