Systems Analyst, Infrastructure – City of Nelson – Nelson, BC

The City of Nelson is recruiting for a Systems Analyst – Infrastructure to work on a regular full time basis in the Information Systems  Department.  This position’s primary responsibilities include infrastructure design, deployment and management of servers, storage  and networking.  The position also shares the Helpdesk activities with other team members and includes projects.  The City of Nelson’s IT department provides technology solutions to all departments, providing a very broad range of interesting technology opportunities.

An experienced background in networking design including WAN, LAN and VLANs is required, along with advanced server management. The  current infrastructure is a VMWare cluster of Windows Servers, Nimble Storage, Juniper Switches, Fortigate Routers and ShoreTel telephony. Our IT team is looking for a self-motivated and creative analyst to work in a dynamic and fascinating  environment.  Excellent customer service and communication skills are required.

Some weekends and after hours work is required due to the nature of the position.

A Diploma or Degree in Computer Systems Technology or related job experience is required.

Salary and Benefits are in accordance with the CUPE Local 339 Collective Agreement.  The position is CUPE Pay Grade 14, which is a  salary of $33.15 per hour, plus a great benefits package.
