Parkland County has a Permanent, Full-time position available for a Supervisor, Information Technology Services. Under the general supervision of the Manager, Information Services, the Supervisor, Information Technology Services (ITS) directs and coordinates the activities of Information Technology Services. The Supervisor, ITS is responsible for providing effective business-related computer and network services to authorized users, having knowledge of system capacity to determine project feasibility, controlling and assigning work to subordinates, recommending operating policies and procedures to the Manager, Information Services and resolving technical support issues that arise from Parkland County departments while maintaining communication on the timely outcome. This position requires the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships, strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel.
Qualifications:
Grade 12 diploma supplemented by a College/Technical Institute diploma with courses in Computing Science, Computer Engineering or a related technology field.
Minimum five (5) years’ experience in an information technology supervisory role.
Knowledge of Microsoft applications, networking technologies and operating systems is required.
A current Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) designation is required but a Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) designation (or equivalent) is preferred. Must also possess a Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) certification (or equivalent). Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) certification is strongly recommended.
Good understanding of current computer technology trends and a thorough understanding of software, hardware and network support.
Possession of a valid Alberta driver’s license and satisfactory driving record is required.
Rate of Pay:
$95,657 – $119,560 per annum
Hours of Work:
7 hours/day; 35 hours/week
