Ocean Sonics designs and manufactures the icListen Smart Hydrophone, an innovative passive acoustic monitoring system used for measuring ocean sounds. This is a hands‐on position for a passionate software architect to:

Specific responsibilities:

Design Software for Oceanographic Instruments
Develop and Update High Quality Product Software
Manage Software Projects
Oversee Junior Software staff

Supporting Responsibilities:

Customer Support for software products
Write software product documentation

Requirements:

Bachelor of Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent major
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a software development role
Proficient in development in C in a Linux and Windows environment
Experience working with and architecting multithreaded, time sensitive programs
Experience developing multi‐platform GUI applications
Ability to follow software standards
Ability to work as part of a team on new and existing software.

Desired:

Experience developing in an embedded/mobile software environment
Experience compiling Linux Kernel and building a Linux filesystem
Experience Managing Projects
Experience developing in HTML/CSS/JavaScript
Experience in Bash shell scripting
Experience with version control systems
