We support people in gaining the knowledge, skills and resources they need to access or grow their own food in a way that enhances our urban environment.
Position Details:
The Social Enterprise Development Officer will focus on exploration, development and implementation of new revenue streams for Sudbury Shared Harvest’s social enterprise. We are especially interested in hearing from those with a strong interest in food security, local food production and/or environmental issues in addition to a business background.
Qualifications:
Post-secondary education completed in Business, Marketing or a related field of study
Experience in Business Development preferred
Knowledge of social enterprise and the non-profit sector preferred
Strong organizational skills and follow through on work-plan assigned
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Dependable and committed to project outcomes
High initiative combined with thorough task completion according to directions
Flexible, Motivated, and a Team Player
Excellent problem-solving skills
Strong business and financial literacy skills
Job duties:
Work with other members of the team to identify gaps in the research conducted so far and conduct additional research as needed
Research similar social enterprises and advise on how to best set it up
Work with team during the growing season to develop and test potential value-added product ideas
Complete a business plan for the social enterprise
Work with the team to plan a product launch and other marketing activities
Work Location:
Successful candidate will be expected to work primarily from home, with frequent meetings online and in-person at various outdoor worksites.
Salary: $21 per hour for 30 hours per week (52 weeks)
