The District of Saanich seeks an individual who will provide direction to the development, planning, coordination, scheduling and evaluation of recreation program areas which include Healthy Eating, Community Kitchens Network, Seniors Community Gardens, Children’s Health, Regional and Multicultural Initiatives. The successful candidate will oversee these program areas from July 2015 – January 2016. Position responsibilities will be changed on February 1, 2016, to oversee all Youth Services including teen centres, youth programs and events, Summer Neighbourhood Playground Program and the implementation of a new Youth Development Strategy and 5 year plan. The Programmer II will also be responsible for the supervision of staff, marketing of programs and community and partnership development. Requirements include a University Degree in Recreation, leisure studies or related field with minimum two years experience in recreation programming, or equivalent combination of education and experience; a valid Class 5 B.C. Driver’s Licence and satisfactory police information check.
