The Rick Hansen School Program (RHSP) provides administrators, teachers and students with a comprehensive set of resources that are designed to increase disability awareness, accessibility and inclusion to ultimately empower young people to make a difference in their school, community and the world.

We are currently hiring for a unique and exciting opportunity with the dynamic Schools Team to lead the development and implementation of the RHSP in Québec. The ideal candidate will have advanced French language skills and the ability to deliver superior customer service. This position will be located at our office in Richmond, British Columbia. Candidates applying from Québec and Ontario will have the option to work remotely on a contract basis.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Program Coordinator (Francophone), RHSP, will lead the recruitment and retention of francophone schools across Canada and support both the development and implementation of the Program on a national scale. This position will lead the implementation of the RHSP, as well as the partnership with the Ambassador Program, in Québec.

The Program Coordinator (Francophone) will report to the Director, RHSP, and work closely with the RHSP team and key internal stakeholders.

More specifically, the Program Coordinator will:

Communicate with schools across Canada by phone and email to promote the RHSP, as well as drive recruitment, retention, feedback and engagement;
Spearhead the implementation of the Program in Québec by developing partnerships, engaging educators and creating relevant materials;
Lead the implementation of the RHSP and Ambassador Program partnership in Québec by assisting with the recruitment of Ambassadors and leading the Québec training session;
Support schools in implementing the RHSP and respond to any questions and/or enquiries by phone and email;
Establish, nurture and track relationships with key contacts within schools and partner organizations;
Develop, upload and manage all of the RHSP’s French content on the RHSP’s website pages, as well as assist with any updates and improvements;
Contribute to written materials, including newsletters, reports, RHSP website, communications to schools and interviews with students;
Assist with the translation of communications to francophone schools across Canada, including emails, website, newsletters and content on social media;
Support the delivery of training sessions and workshops for educators;
Research issues relevant to the RHSP and prepare briefing notes, reports and Program materials;
Represent the RHSP at information events; and
Perform other duties as required in keeping with the purpose and accountability of the job.

QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate will have:

Advanced French language skills (bilingual – French/English);
A minimum of a high school diploma and completion of courses in recruitment and/or sales training;
A strong interest and/or previous experience in the education sector;
Phone solicitation/cold calling/call centre experience;
Experience coordinating projects and/or events, with the ability to deliver effective presentations;
Excellent interpersonal and telephone skills;
Excellent writing skills;
An ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, schools and supporters;
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and accurate data entry skills to record communications with schools;
An ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple initiatives simultaneously; and
Familiarity with information technology and databases, including MS Office, relationship management software, website content management systems and social media.
