Ecotrust Canada is a federally registered charity with a 20 year history, an excellent track record of results and a bold, important mission: to design economic alternatives that benefit people in place. A trusted and respected brand in the non-profit marketplace, Ecotrust Canada exists to support the transition from an economy founded on industrial resource extraction to one that more directly and immediately benefits communities and the environment. The organization is relentlessly practical in its approach – supporting the design, prototyping and launching of new enterprises that demonstrate that an alternative approach to economic development is not only possible but also preferable.
Ecotrust Canada is known for being an organization that is strategic, thoughtful and innovative in working with communities, non-governmental organizations, governments, private enterprise and other non-profit partners. We are well positioned as one of the few organizations in Canada that has lengthy experience working with First Nations and indigenous communities on issues of resource management, territorial rights and culture. In this realm, Ecotrust Canada acts as a catalyst, resource, and broker.
Ecotrust Canada is looking for a dynamic and results-driven leader; someone who can communicate, network, fundraise and motivate others to create impactful social change as well as provide strategic leadership and top-level management to ensure that the organization consistently achieves its Mission and Strategic Objectives. This leadership role is for someone who wants to create a legacy, someone who will strongly lead the Ecotrust Canada team in its mission.
The successful candidate will be a strategic, inspirational leader who strongly believes in the Mission of Ecotrust Canada and the critical role it plays, and who will be excited by the opportunity to harness the organization’s growth and development potential in the coming years. S/he will have superior fundraising and communication skills and over ten years of senior leadership and management experience in non-profit and/or for-profit organizations. S/he will use their leadership skills to raise capital and awareness for the design, support and incubation of triple bottom line economic solutions that are good for people in place. These social enterprises are game changers for communities and industry sectors, support the continuing work of the charity, and demonstrate what is possible.
