the following challenging opportunity for an Operational Improvement Coordinator. This position will play a key role in the future operations of the Company. ADL is committed to providing the appropriate resources and focus on this position to ensure success.
The position will perform a wide range of strategic functions. The Coordinator will be a critical asset of the Company and will be responsible to work in various aspects of the operation and with a wide group of management and supervisory personnel to ensure the strategic goals and projects that are identified by the Company are achieved.
The Coordinator will be challenged to use their knowledge and experience gained from previous exposure to a “Lean Manufacturing” environment to assist them with their daily work.
Duties and responsibilities will include but will not be limited to the following:
Identify areas and opportunities for facility optimization.
Provide analysis of operational and work flow dynamics with a view to maximizing product quality and operational efficiencies.
Work closely with management, supervisors and staff to help identify opportunities for continuous improvement practices.
Work closely with management , supervisors and staff to assist with the development of standard operational methods and processes as well as to design and deliver implementation strategies
Provide continual follow-up and monitoring to assess the success of program implementation.
To assist in project implementation including the development of new products or processes.
To assist in achieving cost efficiencies and the identification of initiatives to enhance product flow, production rates or any other aspect of the operation that may present an opportunity.
To ensure adequate research and analysis is conducted on new initiatives prior to their launch.
To provide input into process capability, plant limitations, or other requirements necessary to meet and promote product demand requirements.
To work closely with the Quality Control Department to promote the continual recognition of the need for facilities to operate in conformity with regulatory and/or third party standards.
To serve as a role model in the areas of leadership, teamwork, customer focus, continuous improvement, safety and environmental stewardship to ensure achievement of Company objectives.
Requirements for the position include:
Post-secondary education in Business, Sciences, and/or Information Technology.
Experience in a Food Processing Environment where food safety programs play a crucial role in day to day operations.
Training and/or extensive experience in Continuous Improvement and or Lean Manufacturing techniques.
IT/ Data base skills.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence outcomes and motivate associates and line workers.
Possess strong analytical skills.
Possess strong attention to detail.
Possess strong desire to succeed with work challenges.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Self-starter, influential leader, team player and quality communicator.
