The Opportunity
C-Therm is currently looking for a talented Mechanical Designer to lead mechanical design efforts as the company explores and moves into new opportunities in thermal analysis.
Reporting to the Director of Engineering, this position will be responsible for managing all aspects of mechanical design. You will play a key role in everything from identifying design requirements to prototyping and product actualization. You will provide leadership, training, and mentorship to team members to help ensure the success of the team.
Job Description:
To design mechanical parts and assemblies for new products, provide support for products in manufacturing, and specify, test and document mechanical designs.
Tasks include:
Establish design requirements, specifications, block diagrams, assembly instructions, inspection requirements, test plans and test procedures for the mechanical parts of the product
Create 3-D models, 2-D drawings and assembly instructions
Create bills of materials (BOMs), and maintain product configuration control
Assembly, test and debug prototypes
Design tools and jigs for assembly
Provide support to manufacturing and field installations
Perform additional related duties as required
Work in a team environment with limited supervision
Qualifications:
Mandatory Requirements & Skills
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering with at least 3 years’ experience
At least 3 years 3D mechanical design with Solid Works or Pro Engineer
Excellent knowledge of GD&T standards and practices
Experience in design of metal parts, cutting, bending and stamping
Good knowledge of ISO 9001standard
Good knowledge of engineering processes and engineering change control
Experience in design of tools and jigs for production environment
Able to prioritize tasks; delivery of results on time; emphasis on high quality
Above average written and verbal communication skills
Desired Requirements & Skills
ERP/MRP experience
Experience in design of electronic assemblies and cables
Experience in design of plastic parts, tooling and injection molding
Bilingual (French, English)
Stress under temperature and pressure simulations
Heat transfer simulations
