The Opportunity
The Coady Institute Coady seeks a Manager of Networks and Ongoing Learning who will work closely with the Director and other staff to engage Coady graduates in learning networks designed to further support them as they improve development practice in their organizations, communities and countries around the world.
This is a full-time permanent position located at the Coady International Institute on the campus of St. Francis Xavier University in Antigonish, Nova Scotia, with potential for travel within North America and overseas

The Ideal Candidate will have:
A Master’s degree in a relevant area of adult education, international development and/or Information Communication Technology (ICTs)
4 to 6 years’ experience in online learning or related field including; experience in curriculum design, with demonstrated understanding of and commitment to participatory and transformative approaches
Excellent interpersonal and intercultural communication skills
Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to complete multiple tasks in a timely and effective manner
Strong writing skills
Ability to work cohesively in a team environment
Capacity and desire to stay current on the latest technology
Ability to travel
Key Functions and Responsibilities
The Networks and Ongoing Learning Manager will report to the Associate Director of Strategic Partnership and Organizational Learning and will be responsible for the following activities:
Facilitate self-organizing and continuous learning of Coady graduates
Work with colleagues to:
Update and maintain a graduate database and the processes required to support alumni to self-organize
Map existing Coady networks and build upon them in order to deliver innovative blended and virtual learning that develops increased graduate capacity for community action
Develop guidelines for in-country and virtual alumni groups
Develop on-going communication systems to identify and facilitate opportunities for Coady graduates to pilot geographic or thematic learning networks
Manage Network infrastructure to support Learning networks
Work with colleagues to:
Develop a content management system that interfaces communications, educational programs and networking
Develop and support the on-line platform (s) required to deliver on-going learning activities
Analyze and document pilot networks projects so that lessons can be applied elsewhere
Document and report on network and ongoing learning outcomes
Lead virtual and blended learning initiatives
Work with colleagues to:
Design online curriculum for Coady graduates using an Adult Education approach
Adapt Coady courses for online or blended learning delivery (support with instructional design)
Identification and creation of webinars and other emerging virtual learning approaches
Develop innovative resource materials and ensure easy access to a wide audience
Develop discussion papers on emerging approaches on-going learning as well Coady’s thematic areas related to virtual learning
Build internal capacity to facilitate online learning
Living in Antigonish, Nova Scotia
Antigonish is a beautiful, vibrant town located in northern Nova Scotia on the Northumberland Strait. About 200 km from Halifax, Nova Scotia and 250 km from Moncton, New Brunswick, Antigonish is known as the Heart of the Highlands and the gateway to Cape Breton.
The region is renowned for its beauty and nature. It’s easy to stay active in Antigonish: there are walking and hiking trails, cycling circuits, glorious beaches and warm water, kayaking opportunities, horseback riding, a Golf & Country club, and a terrific university sports complex for those who like to stay closer to home. The region has a vibrant Arts scene, including Festival Antigonish which hosts some of the finest writing, directing and performing talent in Atlantic Canada, an annual International Film Festival and a variety of other festivals and events.

While the region is predominately Scottish in heritage, Antigonish has a multicultural landscape due to the presence of StFX University and the Coady International Institute.
