Junior Analyst – Offsetters

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Act as an in-house subject matter expert on GHG accounting standards, LCA practices, and GHG reporting and cap and trade systems
Conduct GHG accounting and LCAs for Offsetters’ clients, in compliance with industry standard methodologies including GHG assessments in a variety of contexts relating to the footprints of companies and events, and LCAs for products manufactured by various sectors
Collect and review data from clients in relation to GHG quantification and LCAs, including requesting emissions data and documentation, and conducting employee surveys
Write, edit, organize, and manage project documents and reports
Support the enhancement of analytical models and tools for Advisory Services, ensuring a consistent approach and level of rigour in all GHG assessments and LCAs
Research and develop a variety of high quality position papers, benchmarking reports, client and public surveys, and best practices, as needed
Maintain a database of internationally-published GHG reports (or links), for internal learning
Report to the Director of Advisory Services in regards to all consulting and research projects on a weekly basis
Write proposals for prospective clients
Support other team members with their duties, when requested

Required Qualifications
Post-Secondary degree: ideally in Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Sustainability, or equivalent
Interest in and understanding of climate change and environmental sciences
Strong skills and experience working with Excel
Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
Ability to achieve objectives both independently and in a team environment
Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels of an organization including clients and coworkers

Preferred Qualifications
One year of analytical work experience preferred, but new graduates are welcome
Demonstrated experience in GHG accounting and LCAs
Track record of independent research projects from conception to completion
A keen interest and awareness of key trends in industry, and the ability to communicate how these trends could potentially impact Offsetters and clients
Project management experience including the ability to complete projects according to client expectations, timelines and budgets

Key Reporting Relationship
Reports to: Director, Advisory Services; works closely with Director of Clean Technology, and Marketing & Client Engagement Department
