Armour Transportation Systems, one of Canada’s leading transportation and logistics companies, has an immediate opening for a System Administrator.

Location: Moncton, New Brunswick

Responsibilities: Reporting directly to the IT Manager, this will be an exciting opportunity to use your skills and continually develop your expertise with a wide variety of technologies and products. Working in a team environment, the System Administrator will be responsible for the company’s IT systems and related infrastructure to ensure that all systems function to support our business objectives.

Key responsibilities include:

Building computer systems environments as directed using defined procedures
Maintaining optimum system environment by resolving customer’s issues and inquiries
Supporting users with rotating on-call. Some travel may be required
Improving system environment by Network and Server monitoring and proactive maintenance and upgrades​

Requirements:

Post-secondary education in Computer Science, or related discipline
5-10 years of experience in an IT advanced support role
High capacity for learning new technologies and broad technical skills
Customer service frame of mind and a professional attitude
The ability to prioritize, track, and manage issues to completion
A team oriented approach to solving technical problems within schedule constraints
The ability to self-manage workload in a fast paced environment with multiple priorities​

Technical Experience: Experience in the following categories would be considered an asset.

Windows XP, Windows 8, including configuring Microsoft Windows environments (Active Directory, MS System Center, Windows Server 2008 & 2012, etc.)
Network experience (LANs/WANS), firewalls, routers
Wireless environment for use with computers and handheld scanning devices.
Desktops, laptops, high speed scanners, and printers installation and maintenance
Windows Servers 2008 & 2012, VDI,
Scripting, BackUp Exec, SQL, and Crystal Reports experience
Virtualized environment – VDI (VMware / Citrix)
Databases configuring and support. (IBM, DB2)
