About the Position

LED Roadway Lighting Limited is currently seeking to fill an IT Support position at our 55,000 sq. ft/5,100 m2 Manufacturing Facility in Amherst, Nova Scotia.

Responsibilities:

Planning, implementation, installation, administration and maintenance of the company’s service infrastructure including network, application servers, database servers, web servers, workstations, phone systems, wireless networks, photocopiers and printers, content management system, document management systems, backup systems and disaster recovery systems.
Document and build IT Procedures for hardware and software troubleshooting and updates, network configuration drawings, inventory control, and software license control.
Ability to communicate and provide team members guidance and mentoring on technical solutions while increasing general productivity
Develop and provide training to support new technology and processes
Identify opportunities for improvement within the IT Environment

Qualifications:

Post-secondary education Computer Science, and/or or related field with experience/skills
Minimum 2 years of experience within an IT department and/or an IT Help Desk/Service Desk
Energetic team player with a high degree of initiative and innovation
Able to clearly communicate technical/computer concepts or perform troubleshooting with employees who have varying levels of computer experience
Able to work independently with minimal supervision, while handling multiple tasks and changing priorities
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in an open cultured team environment.
Understanding basic processes to support an IT Environment, Application Development,  Troubleshooting, Training and Testing
Useful to know and understand Microsoft Environment technologies including:  Server Operating Systems (such as Windows Server 2012/2008), MS SQL Server, Server and Desktop Virtualization (Hyper-V), Computer Operating Systems (such as Windows 8/7), Symantec Endpoint Protection, and Microsoft Server Applications such as Exchange, and SharePoint.
Useful to know and understand Algorithms and Programming Languages, SQL programming and Database Technologies, UML Modeling and Communication of Software Designs, Backup Technologies, Security, DNS / ISP-specific technologies, ERP Systems, Software for Lighting Layouts, and Software for Engineering Design (CAD)
