discoverygarden is looking for an experienced Quality IT Project Manager to join our team. This role will work directly with our technical and sales team to plan, document and deliver projects that meet the highest standards of quality.
As an IT Project Manager, you will be responsible for driving all phases of projects to successful completion. You will be responsible for providing day to day leadership, management and coordination of all activities pertaining to project direction, goal setting, planning, estimating, resource allocation and assignments, project health and reporting, problem resolution and collaboration with key stakeholders to ensure project goals are met. In addition, the IT Project Manager proactively provides coaching and mentoring to individuals and teams for Project Management best practices, continuous process improvement and customer satisfaction initiatives.
What you will be doing
Effectively managing multiple projects simultaneously
Creating and executing realistic project plans
Completing projects by coordinating resources and timetables
Meeting with clients to gather project requirements and develop user stories
Working with technical teams to create time and cost estimates
Creating and updating work plans to track progress
Monitoring development efforts and identifying any issues relating to team performance, skills, process violations to ensure successful delivery and continuous improvement
Working with management to assess opportunities for process improvements and participate in developing plans to implement improvements
Providing weekly reports on project performance
Presenting in front of large groups (ie. conferences, client demonstrations)
Some travel may be required
What you will need
Experience and demonstrated success in project management
Experience with managing effective business relationships with key stakeholders
Excellent analytic and problem solving skills
Strong leadership skills
Exposure to business case development and cost benefit analysis
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
Able to work with tight deadlines and evolving priorities
Experience with project management tools (Jira) is an asset
What we will love to see

Knowledge of Academic Institutions, Libraries, Museums, etc.
Software development experience (PHP, Java, Python, Javascript)
Project management designation
Familiarity with Agile Development Methodologies (We use KanBan/Scrum)
Understanding of Open Source licensing and a love of open source!
