ICI is a not-for-profit geospatial Society based in Victoria, British Columbia. We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated, detail-orientated individual to join our team as an IT Coordinator.

The IT Coordinator (ITC) position includes a wide range of tasks requiring strong organizational and interpersonal skills as well as a solid understanding of database structures, application software (IT and office), enterprise security, operating systems and corresponding hardware and web development. The ITC provides expertise and assistance in the areas of infrastructure support including, but not limited to, IT operations, web-map services, data portal, website, enterprise infrastructure and various member services.

The ITC reports directly to the Executive Director.

Salary commensurate with experience.

Key responsibilities:

The key responsibilities associated with the ITC position include, but are not limited to, the following:

Responsible for understanding, supporting and maintaining the data contribution process (GeoShare).
Works with the Program Coordinator to ensure that all project planning, reporting and updating is maintained and adhered to.
Supports the enterprise environment required to sustain the development, test and implementation of the BCSpatial product suite.
Ensures that appropriate system security measures are implemented, maintained, and upgraded.
Administers the various software license and hardware maintenance contracts.
Programming and scripting to support monitoring and quality assurance of BCSpatial systems and application enhancements.
Works with the System Engineer to liaise with the various product vendors and contractors for the continuing operation and support of the enterprise.
Participates in team meetings and adheres to all operational reporting requirements.
Prepares technical correspondence and briefing notes for the various stakeholders as required.
Maintains process and procedure documentation for direct areas of responsibility.

Qualifications:

A positive, energetic and motivated individual
Excellent team player
Understanding of SQL Server data base administration, ArcGIS for Server and other enterprise application products
Understanding of enterprise software licensing
Experience with web development
Experience with enterprise security
Experience managing Active Directory policies
Experience with ESRI’s ArcGIS desktop products
Experience with FME data translation products, FTP and GIS
Familiarity with SharePoint is an asset
Basic programming skills – SQL, MS Access, Python for data loading
Familiar with the use of MS Office
Work well with little direction
Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
Good attention to detail
Adaptable to varying workload
Willingness and ability to work outside of normal office hours when required
