The Learning Bar specializes in the development of evidence-based educational systems aimed at reliably informing educators and school administrators. Its flagship products include the Early Years Evaluation (EYE), an instrument for the direct assessment of children’s developmental skills at ages 3 to 6, and OurSCHOOL|TTFM (Tell Them From Me), a school improvement system that collects, analyses, and reports on factors that are known to affect student learning outcomes currently used in over 250 school jurisdictions across 6 countries. Job Description
In this position, you will join The Learning Bar’s growing team to work on the development and maintenance of new and existing web applications. We need a talented candidate who is up for the task!
Duties:
Design, code, document, test, debug and deploy web applications
Database design, implementation and maintenance
Front-end graphical user interface design
Adhere to coding and development standards and practices as defined by the team
Mentor and supervise junior developers
Adhere to the policies and procedures of the company
Skills/Qualifications:
Our ideal candidate should have 5+ years of Java programming experience in a web application environment. Experience in UX Design would be considered an asset. A university degree in computer science is preferred but we will consider applicants with comparable education and/or experience.

The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate the following:
Excellent reading, written and spoken English communication
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
An interest and ability to learn and work with new technologies
Experience with modern development tools and methodologies
Ability to work in both a collaborative team or self-directed environment
History of producing high-quality work within fixed deadlines
General accountability
The candidate is accountable to the CTO of The Learning Bar.
