Intermediate Business Process Analyst & Technical Writer – Calgary – PBOK

Position Overview
PBOK Consulting (Pipeline Body of Knowledge) is seeking an Intermediate Business Process Analyst & Technical Writer who will support client work in developing and documenting technical processes. The successful candidate should have experience writing a range of business documents, editing materials, and managing clients. The Analyst & Writer will work closely with other team members, including researchers, writers, designers, technical writers, and subject matter experts (SMEs) to develop documentation in support of business processes. The Analyst & Writer will have a key role in ensuring that a consistent and high quality of work is delivered both internally and externally to clients.

Primary Responsibilities
Take a proactive approach to understanding client information and business function
Analysis and writing support on a range of company and client projects
Own and manage document development processes and effectively manage time and deadlines
Collaborate with team members to define objectives, guide processes, and deliver materials
Analyze content to design the best method for clear and accurate knowledge transfer
Rework to eliminate non-essential content while creating a concise, accurate, and effective understanding of the material
Prepare and support Senior Associate in facilitation for working sessions and review sessions ensuring focus and timely results
Contribute to a systematic design and development model to improve resources and minimize the development time for future materials
Consistently apply style, formatting, and process guidelines
Conduct quality control reviews of documentation at various stages of development
Manage workload for multiple projects simultaneously

Experience
Post-secondary education in a technical field (e.g. Engineering) or communications (e.g. English, Journalism, Technical Writing).
Experience in technical writing of proposals, engineering documents, and marketing materials, preferably in a corporate environment

Competencies
A strong understanding of standard applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Proven document development and formatting skills
Expert knowledge of grammar, spelling, punctuation, and the English language
Ability to understand, clarify, define, and document technical processes visually and through text
Some ability to analyze process models and identify potential areas for improvement
Knowledge and skills required to present technical and procedural content clearly and simply
Highly developed verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate to all levels of the organization and clients
Strong research and organizational skills with attention to detail
Team-oriented with an ability to work in a highly collaborative environment
Ability to work on multiple projects at a time
