Commencing January 2016, the Fashion Design and Technology (FASN) degree program at Kwantlen Polytechnic University (The Chip and Shannon Wilson School of Design on the Richmond campus) is seeking part-time contract faculty.  These positions are for a non-regular type 1 contract with the possibility of additional work dependent on candidate qualifications.

The Fashion Design and Technology at Kwantlen Polytechnic University (Richmond campus) is expanding their qualified faculty list and looking for contract faculty with expertise in the following area:

Production based courses, especially relating to pattern drafting and garment construction

The Fashion department is a flexible learning environment fostered by an atmosphere of respect and cooperation.  This environment provides opportunities for students to continue to develop individually as they increase their design, production and marketing abilities.

The successful candidate must be dedicated to creating and maintaining a motivational climate and work closely with other instructors in the integration of course materials throughout the Fashion programs.  Preferred are those applicants who have teaching experience, are actively involved in the industry, events and related associations, who have demonstrated leadership qualities and experience, and who can show evidence of teamwork and collaborative approaches in a work environment.

Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Fashion or related disciplines or academic credentials and experience appropriate to areas of responsibility.  Post-secondary teaching experience, minimum 3 years preferred or a teaching credential and 5 years related work experience.
