The Peace River Regional District is seeking a knowledgeable, experienced and energetic professional for the position of Information Technology (IT) Manager. Reporting to the General Manager of Development Services, the IT Manager is accountable for the effective operation of information technology (IT) services and support across the organization.
Our Ideal Candidate:
This position will oversee all IT functions including systems management, security, system and data availability and access, capacity planning, disaster planning, business continuity, GIS services, telecommunications, and managing division employees and consultants.
Preferred candidates will possess a university degree in computer science coupled with a minimum 5 years of experience in the IT industry, including at least 3 years in a managerial capacity. You will have experience with hardware, local & wide area networks, databases, desktop applications and telecommunications.
To be successful you will have experience installing and supporting systems and software utilized in a local government such as: GIS, finance, solid waste management, corporate records, application/permit tracking, fire protection, emergency operations and web technologies.
Desired candidates will be leaders in change management and innovation related to local government technology solutions. You will have an innate awareness of industry trends and a proven ability to solve challenging business issues while managing cost, security and risk. With exemplary leadership and communication skills you will motivate a work team and provide skills in budget development and project management.
