The City of Trail is seeking a qualified individual to fill the permanent full-time position of Information Systems Technician.
Reporting to the Information Systems Coordinator, the Information Systems Technician is responsible for assisting in the overall operation of the City’s Information Systems. This is skilled technical work that will encompass GIS/CAD, application support, Windows server and desktop support, network, voice and production system maintenance. Answering and resolving end user questions and technical requests in a positive and supportive manner in order to ensure systems are fully functioning on a day to day basis and meeting operational requirements.
Qualifications for this position include:
Post-secondary education in GIS and Computer Systems Administration / Support.
Demonstrated proficiency in various software applications used by the City of Trail.
Experience supporting server, desktop, network and peripheral hardware and operating systems.
Demonstrated ability to work reliably and with minimum supervision.
Proven change and transition skills and a general desire to constantly strive for improved methods of delivering service by maximizing information systems potential.

This position is within the CUPE Local 2087 Bargaining Unit. Wages and benefits are as per the Collective Agreement.
