The City of Cranbrook is recruiting for the position of Information Systems Division Manager. The incumbent will be a key member of the Finance Department and will have an opportunity to bring progressive and innovative ideas to support the desired growth in Cranbrook while maintaining and improving the City’s information systems infrastructure.
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Information Systems Division Manager position is accountable for the maintenance and operation of the Information Systems Division. The incumbent is supported by the Systems Administrator and PC Support Specialist.
Areas of responsibility include: all servers, workstations, telephone system, mobile technologies, network infrastructure, software and the staff/resources to deliver service to all employees and the citizens of Cranbrook. Key focuses are to work collaboratively with all City departments and other stakeholders and to promote a cross functional approach in endeavoring to provide excellent service to City staff and the citizens of Cranbrook.
The leadership qualifications for this position include extensive experience in:
Developing credibility as a fair and reasonable departmental leader.
Experience inspiring and coaching exempt and bargaining unit staff in delivering top customer service
Shifting departmental culture from traditional to learning and outcomes focused.
The technical qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business administration or a related discipline as well as 5 years’ experience in delivering strategic information systems and managing / supervising others. An equivalent amount of education and experience will be considered
and experience in a government setting would be an asset.
Experience in creating and implementing an information systems strategic plan.
Excellent organizational, planning and analytical skills with an ability to apply creative solutions are required, as is the ability to think and work strategically with key stakeholders.
